The renowned American auction house, 'RR Auction,' recently announced that the original Apple-1, the first personal computer produced by Apple in the mid-1970s, was successfully auctioned for over $223,000 on the 24th of last month. This remarkable figure represents an astounding 334-fold increase from its initial retail price of $666. It's worth noting that RR Auction had initially estimated the selling price to be around $200,000. This specific computer was one of only 200 units handcrafted in the garage of Apple's co-founder, Steve Jobs, situated in Los Altos, California, between 1976 and 1977. This particular piece made its way into history as it was purchased secondhand at a computer goods exhibition held in Framingham, Massachusetts, in 1980 and continued to be used extensively throughout the 1980s.
